This boat was purchased form the show room floor by my father in 82. Our family enjoyed it on the waterways of the San Joaquin Delta in Northern California. When I had kids, I moved the boat to Southern California where we have enjoyed it on the local fresh water lakes. This boat has never been in salt water and stored indoors every day of it’s life. The boat has been maintained and “pampered” by my father and I for the last 30+ years.
The interior was refinished in 1996 along with the carpet and rub rail. It has all original teak and interior components. The boat is powered by a Merc 260 V-8 and a Merc I/O drive. A stainless steel prop and hydrofoil complete the stern of the boat. The impeller and lower unit of the drive were serviced regularly and oil, filter, fuel filter, belt, plugs, distributor rotor and air screen replaced and serviced in May of 2013. This boat needs NOTHING! It is truly “turn key” and ready for the water. Huge ski locker, in floor cooler, under seat storage in bow and convertible lounge seats in the main cabin are just some of the features of the Cobalt.
I have the dealer manual, brochure, engine manual and most major service records. Small service was completed by my father (former aircraft / boat mechanic) or myself. I have 20+ photos that do not give the boat justice as to how gorgeous she is. Bimini top is original and in great shape. Custom canvas boat cover included. Boat sits on a single axle (easy to maneuver) Road Runner trailer with surge brakes and newer LED lights. New Bunk Boards and carpet installed in 2012.
I recently purchased a larger ocean vessel and can only have one boat at a time.
She is stored in my garage and available to show.

What a great looking boat! I’m glad there are folks out there that still appreciate and take care of their boats. She looks better than any of those new assembly line boats you see out on the water.
Thank you for the positive feedback. She’s a beauty for sure. The amazing thing is….she can get on plane and blast past most of those same boats you were referring to. She might have a few years on the rest of the pack, but she still humbles most 18-22 footers out on the water….
I’ve received several phone calls and e-mails wondering if the boat is still for sale. If the advertisement is still up……it’s available.
Beautiful! I have identical boat that my dad bought in 82! Its in perfect shape… Never redone!, u should keep it!,,,
My wife has a strict “one boat at a time policy”. Happy wife, happy life! It’s a great boat but I’d like to move up to a 30+ footer. You are not helping with this tough decision to sell. Thanks for the positive feed back about my boat…..
Rob, are you in Mission Viejo?
