you have a really nice boat there, what is the lowest speed that it will plane ? we like to wakeboard quite slowly………..
Paul,
Just saw your message…….it is a great boat and we had a great summer on Lake Cumberland Kentucky……it is now winterized. We do not wake board so I have not paid attention to where it planes out. It get up quickly though.
I am thrilled that I found this boat on the internet last January while searching images.
I bought this boat
Looks like you found a really nice boat. I am just entering the market to buy and looking for something just like this now that I finished construction on the lake house. If you have the time I’d be interested in any post purchase thoughts or recommendations you might have. I am convinced on Cobalt, but not sure if there are significant model year changes i need to be aware of? Was the $58K realistic?
Jim,
Just saw your message from in August. The price is realistic……..I have used it this summer here in Kentucky. The boat is a nice size…..the layout is good. It is critical to have a properly sized engine. Mine has a Merc 496 with 375 hp……..I would not want any less. Models are different and change some…….I had been watching the 232 for a few years………the 252 is the same but has a head on it.
I really like the layout of my boat…..it has a taller hull side than other 24 foot boats and is above the water more than other models.
It has plenty of storage……and nice flipping rear seat so it can become a nice back for a rear facing lounger. Also, it has a rear compartment for wet stuff that is accessed from the swim platform.
Check out each model carefully……the ride on a Cobalt will be good……..so find what you want.
I just saw a 232 for sale today with a smaller engine…..about 20 hours with a ski tower……and it was listed for $48,000……which would be a good price….but the economy is weakening and many are having difficulty in hanging in, so since boating is an expense……..the prices of boats may be dropping more.
Good luck…….let me know what you end up doing.
Bob
