Thanks to James Lakie of Fairfax, VA for sending in pictures of his Cobalt 24SX, “Rough Draft”. The perfect name for someone who’s in the interior architecture business, wouldn’t you say? As you can see she’s a unique Cobalt with the helm in the center. I hope you enjoy the pictures as much as me! They only produced this boat in 2005 and 2006.
Many Cobalt Boat owners were out in yesterday’s (July 3, 2009) weather. How many Cobalt Boats can you identify…leave us a comment, we want to know!

This 2001 Cobalt 206 is for sale with matching Dorsey Tandem trailer. There are many, many pictures if you email me. We are the original owners and ordered it direct from Cobalt (through our local dealer of course). It has a Volvo Penta 5.7 ltr duo-prop engine. 265 hours on the original motor. Dual batteries, power-lift for the engine cover. This boat has been stored in a concrete floored garage since the day we took delivery. Even in the garage it was covered by a Cobalt custom mooring cover. We took very good care of this boat and hate to list it now.
The boat comes with the aft filler cushion, shower, radio remote on the transom, two extra speakers in the bow (in addition to the four in the cockpit area – Sony AM/FM/CD), eight life jackets (three ski), three tubes (one is the flat topped screamer, and two regular tubes, one large and one small), pair of skis, and a Hyperlite wakeboard. All lines and fenders are included as well.
When the new owner takes possession of this boat, all that will be needed is gas. All maintenance records are available and we will provide the name/phone number of our mechanic if requested. There are only four blemishes on this boat… the chrome rub rail on the bow has been pushed in ever so slightly – no damage to the integrity of the boat, a very small nick in the gel coat on the starboard side – a round nick approximately 1/4″ in diameter and 1mm or less deep, and some minor cavitation burns on the props. I have pictures these issues (except the nick in the gel coat, – it is so small it did not come out in the photos) but assure they are not structural or even noticeable cosmetic issues – just want to be honest.
The bimini top did sustain some damage to the fabric that was repaired. It is still functional and works fine but the corners on the front, both port and starboard tore in a storm. They were repaired and I have pictures to show the repairs. The boat has never been beached. The trailer is a tandem Dorsey custom painted to match the boat with disk brakes. Tires are like new with only two trips over 5 miles on them. Asking price for this boat, trailer and all accessories is 24,995. We will deliver the boat within 500 miles of El Paso, Texas (79912) at no cost to the buyer.
If you are interested, please contact me by email on miles425@elp.rr.com.
This 2007 Cobalt 222 is the cleanest Cobalt on the market and is ready to hit the water today! She’s loaded with almost all the options and features a 375hp Mercruiser 496 MAG motor along with a Bravo III outdrive. The boat and motor only have 30 freshwater hours of use.
The layout consists of a large swim platform with a comfortable walk through to the cockpit and large L-shape seating inside. Forward you’ll find 2 captains chairs along with very generous bow seating. There’s tons of storage throughout and a built in cooler beneath the aft sunpad. Features include snap on covers, aft sun pad filler cushion, cockpit table, snap out carpet, stainless flag pole, bimini top, and wood dash package.
Also included with the boat is a tandem axle trailer with disc surge brakes.
